Vallejo: "We had the clearer chances to take the victory"
Manu Vallejo analysed the events of the 2-2 draw against Deportivo Alavés on Matchday 10 of the LaLiga season pitchside with VCF Media, lamenting the two early goals conceded by the team and praising their desire to fight back.
"I think that it was a bit of a strange game; I'm sure it was a nice one for those watching. It's a pity though. I think that we didn't start the game well, but I think that we came out with a different mentality for the second half, and were more aggressive. We went for the game, despite it being tough," he explained after the final whistle.
"In the end, we leave here with a bad taste in our mouths, because we gave everything we had. I think that we had the clearer chances and opportunities to take the victory -which is what we came here looking for at a tough ground."
Valencia CF had the chance to win the game with some late chances, which just weren't to be.
"We leave here with a draw and those players who come off the bench want to turn the game around. That worked out for us, but we know we could have won tonight."
"In the end, all of us gave our all. We are a team and we want to do that from the start. Sometimes you find it harder to get into the game, and this was one of those. We turned things around with our desire and courage, because this team want to win -whether things go well or not. That was shown today."

"As for Gayà: He's an important player for us. Let's hope his injury is as small as possible. Between us all we will try to cover for him in his absence and help with whatever he needs. He is the captain and a great person," said Vallejo of his teammate.
